Welcome Stage 2 teachers to our inaugural Stage 2 collaboration day. We hope that this will become a day in which we learn and share the joys, frustrations, hilarities and rewards of being a Stage 2 teacher. Stage 2 is quite unique...wouldn't you agree? We hope from today's meeting that we will come to the realisation that the students we teach are a unique group of individuals who are at the threshold of a wonderous world...a world in which we cannot begin to imagine what career paths they may follow.One thing we can be certain of though is that we have a tremendous responsibility to prepare them for careers which may possibly not exist at this point in time. We are fortunate as teachers to have the facilities of Web 2.0 which I sincerely believe is a collection of amazing tools, allowing our students to follow their interests, independent of their teachers.
I hope that today is just the beginning of a learning jouney for us, as teachers; to learn and experience the new
opportunities and programs that are available to us as teachers. Tools such as blogs,wikis,Google applications, Smartboards, SCOOTLE make "NOW" a very exciting yet demanding time to teach.
There is a saying which I think is quite appropriate at this time: TOGETHER WE LEARN FROM EACH OTHER.
